Bahrain’s economy grew in the third quarter of 2019


January 12, 2020 - Kingdom’s economy grows in the Q3 2019 compared to the same period of the previous year. The data indicated a grow in Gross Domestic Product achieved thanks to the non-oil sector. The Information & eGoverment Authority released a new report that showed an overall economic grow by 1.58% in the Q3 of 2019. Bahrain’s Economy is supported also by the non-oil sector that has grown substantially compared to the 2018. This mix highlights the strength and resilience of the Kingdom’s economy, iGA said in the report. Telecommunications, transportation and tourism are the sectors with higher numbers, respectively +4.08%, +6.35% and +6.28% at real prices. The report showed also a +3.20% in private health services in Q3 2019 compared to Q3 2018. The National Accounts report confirmed also that the oil GDP dropped by 0.15 per cent in real prices and 12.53 per cent an current prices, this is the result of the decline in the price of a barrel of oil from the previous year.
